Radley's hat trick helped the Mustangs crush the Jr. Thunderbolts 5-2

Jack Radley led the way with a hat trick as the Peoria Mustangs crushed the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts 5-2 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Peoria. In addition, Zack Freiburger came up big, stopping 33 of 35 shots throughout the game. The Peoria Mustangs took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Jack Radley.

Jack Healy contributed with 2 goals.

During the first, Winfield opened the scoring for Evansville with a goal at 4:23 with assists from teammates Ware and Hannebrink. Scott quickly followed with a goal at 5:50 with a helper from his linemate Rozema. Radley finally put Peoria on the board with a goal at 12:05 with an assist from fellow Mustangs forward Keil. Healy deposited a goal at 19:24.

In the second, Radley scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:50 with a helper from his linemate Bauer.

During the third, Healy netted a goal at 2:02 with an assist from defenseman Layne. Radley put in a goal at 17:01 with a helper from Stewart.

Peoria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Freiburger’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced. Freiburger’s counterpart, Linenburg, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 57, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (23-19-1-1).
