In the first, Bauer opened the scoring for Peoria with a goal at 0:24 with a helper from defenseman Power Wayvon. Rozema answered for Evansville with a goal at 3:29.
In the second period, Mcdonald answered for the Mustangs with a goal at 3:21 with assists from teammates Groesch and Mickel. Mchenry put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:49 with helpers from his linemates, Healy and Hay. Radley netted a goal at 18:30 with an assist from Keil.
In the third period, Kowalski answered for Evansville with a goal at 17:11 with helpers from his linemates, Rozema and Linenburg.
Peoria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Gardner’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced. Gardner’s counterpart, Linenburg, also had a big night, managing to stop 46 of 50, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (24-19-1-1).
