Jaden Gardner came up big, stopping 28 of 30 shots throughout the game. The Peoria Mustangs took the lead late in the second on a goal from Braden Stewart.
In the first, Zwierecki opened the scoring for Wooster with a goal at 7:43 with helpers from teammates Crosby and Seay. Hay quickly followed with a goal at 8:59 with assists from Layne and Healy.
In the second period, Lekarev answered for the Oilers with a goal at 2:34 with helpers from Steele and Kelly. Radley answered for the Mustangs with a goal at 12:43 with an assist from his linemate Keil. Stewart netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:22.
Peoria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Gardner’s big night as he stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced. On the other hand, Gardner’s counterpart, Hubbard, and the Oilers’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 24 of 27 shots.
This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (25-19-1-1).
