GAME PREVIEW: PEORIA MUSTANGS VS. OREGON TRADESMEN
PEORIA, IL – After another dominant road performance on the road, the Mustangs will return home to the Owens Center to welcome in the Oregon Tradesmen for a weekend series starting on Friday, December 11th. The Mustangs swept the Milwaukee Power in Mequon, WI this past weekend with dominant performances coming from newcomer forward Tony Campise and veteran goaltender Cole Walter. The Mustangs squad will defend home ice and a five game winning streak against a talented and experienced Tradesmen squad.
DEJA VU?
COVID-19 protocols have made this season an interesting one to say the least. Many home arenas have been closed and fans have been shut out of games. This past weekend was no exception especially for the St. Louis Jr. Blues and the Oregon Tradesmen. Forced out of the Affton Ice Rink due to COVID-19 restrictions, the St. Louis Jr. Blues made their temporary home at the Mustangs’ Owens Center for their weekend series against the Oregon Tradesmen. The Tradesmen will pack their bags and travel from their temporary home of Janesville, WI to Peoria for the second consecutive weekend. Deja vu, anyone?
A LOOK AT THE TRADESMEN:
The two squads have not seen each other since the second weekend of NA3HL action. Last meeting, the Tradesmen swept the Mustangs in a competitive series. Since then, both teams have grown exponentially on both sides of the ice.
The Tradesmen find themselves 2 points behind the Mustangs in the NA3HL Central Division standings with a record of 8-6 in their inaugural season. There is no denying that once again the Central Division is very much up for grabs among the top 4 teams in the division and this series will have an impact for both teams moving forward. With the Tradesmen getting a feel of the Owens Center this past weekend vs, St. Louis, look for them to be more comfortable in these games vs. Peoria.
