HEAD COACH/OWNER – Steve Ortman:

Steve Ortman has been on the coaching staff of the Peoria Mustangs for the past 20 seasons and was the team’s first Assistant Coach in the Mustangs’ inaugural season of 2000-01. Since then, he has continued his journey with the Mustangs as franchise owner and head coach. Ortman has been at the helm of the Mustangs since the 2019-20 season. Ortman was named general manager of the team before the start of the 2020-21 season and continues that role while at the helm of the Mustangs.


Jean-Guy Trudel became the 19th head coach in Peoria Rivermen franchise history on May 25, 2013 and served as the team’s first head coach in its Southern Professional Hockey League era. He also became the third former player to return as head coach and enters his eighth year as a professional head coach for the 2021-22 season. In addition to coaching the Peoria Rivermen, Trudel is the team president and owner of the Peoria Mustangs.


Greg Eberle started his career as a locker room attendant in the 1980s with the Peoria Chiefs and the Peoria Rivermen. In 1992, he started his career with the St. Louis Blues and was assigned to the Peoria Rivermen where he worked for 16 years. In 2008, he left his position with the Rivermen and took a position with the Mustangs as the head athletic trainer. He continues his position as Mustangs head athletic trainer today.


Josh Redman will return to the Mustangs for his third season in the broadcast booth, along with the game day broadcasting duties, Josh will also serve as the Social Media Director for the organization. Prior to joining the Mustangs Josh was in the broadcast booth with the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL providing color commentary.
