UPDATE:
The weekend series between the Peoria Mustangs and the Wausau RiverWolves is postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. The postponement comes due to a positive COVID-19 test between the organizations. For the health and safety of all players, coaches and staff, these games will not be played this weekend. The Mustangs will remain in Peoria for the weekend. Please stay tuned for updates on when these games will be rescheduled.
GAME PREVIEW: PEORIA MUSTANGS VS. WAUSAU RIVERWOLVES
The Peoria Mustangs (1-1-1-1) will embark on their second road trip of the season as they head to Wausau, WI to square off against the Wausau RiverWolves in a doubleheader. This will be the first meeting of the two teams in the 2020-21 season. The Mustangs are coming off of a bye-week due to the home series vs. Rochester being postponed til mid-December. Game 1 of the series against Wausau will be on October 30th, 2020 at 7:10 PM CT. Game 2 will be held on Halloween at 3:10 PM CT.
SEARCHING FOR THE FIRST ROAD WIN:
After a rough first road outing against Oregon, the Mustangs will be searching for their first road win of the season. Just as in Janesville against Oregon, crowds will once again be a factor as local guidelines for COVID-19 are allowing socially distanced crowds at Marathon Park. The Mustangs are hoping for no tricks and all treats this weekend as they look to even their road record against the RiverWolves.
A LOOK AT WAUSAU:
The RiverWolves return home to Marathon Park after dropping a pair at the Milwaukee Power last weekend. The RiverWolves allowed a total of 11 goals by Milwaukee along as compared to the 6 goals they tallied in the series. Leading the RiverWolves in scoring was their forward, Isaac Wickersheim who tallied 3 total goals in the weekend series. Wickersheim leads the team in points with 5. Look for him to provide the strike on offense this weekend against the Mustangs.
