The Peoria Mustangs signed 2000 F Heath Drye to an NA3HL contract for the 2020-21 season on November 4, 2020. Drye, a 5’11, 139 lb. F from Rockford, MI, comes to Peoria from the Western States Hockey League’s El Paso Rhinos.
During the 2019-20 season, Drye tallied 7 goals and 10 assists in 30 games played for the Rhinos.
Mustangs head coach Steve Ortman shared the excitement in adding Drye to the squad for this season. “Drye will be a top center for us; we welcome him to the Mustangs family,” Ortman said.
Before joining the El Paso Rhinos, Drye played on the Oakland Grizzlies 18U AAA squad.
Drye’s signing comes on the brink of the Mustangs’ next road series against the Milwaukee Power in Mequon, WI. Drye will be on the active roster for this weekend’s series against the Power. He will wear #19 for the Mustangs this season.
