PEORIA, IL – On February 19, 2021, the Peoria Mustangs have announced that the team has tendered three players for the 2021-22 season.
The first signing of the trio of player is F Trevor Begley. A native of O’Fallon, MO, Begley most recently played for the CarShield AAA 18U squad notching 10 goals and 10 assists in 53 games played. This will be Begley’s second stint with the Peoria Mustangs as he played with the team in 2019-20 tallying 1 goal and 4 assists in 14 games played.
The Mustangs’ second tender is another player from the CarShield AA 18U squad, defenseman Brett Anderson. Anderson is a native from St. Charles, MO. Anderson has family ties to the Peoria Mustangs organization as his brother Brennan Anderson is a former teammate of Mustangs assistant coach, Blake Ortman.
Ortman shared his thoughts on both Begley and Anderson joining the Mustangs family:
“Trevor is a very skilled forward with a lethal shot and is no stranger to putting the puck in the net. We are looking for him to make an immediate impact with us here in Peoria. Brett is a big defenseman that can move the puck at an elite level. He can also bring a big physical presence for us night in and night out we are excited for Brett to become apart of the Peoria Mustangs family”.
The last tender of the trio is G Parker Dietz. Dietz, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, most recently played for the MPHL’s Shady Side Academy where he posted a 5-2-0 record with an .854% save percentage. Dietz joins a line of outstanding goalies in the Peoria Mustangs organization next season.
