(Peoria, IL) — The Peoria Mustangs Hockey Club is hosting a Stuff-A-Bus Night at their upcoming game on Saturday, October 29, 2022 against the St. Louis Jr. Blues at Owens Center (1019 W. Lake Ave, Peoria, IL 61614). Fans can bring a donation of a non-perishable food item or cash donation and receive free admission and a giveaway item courtesy of CityLink. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
The Peoria Mustangs have a long-standing partnership with CityLink and the Stuff-A-Bus food drive. They continue to support the food drive by hosting Stuff-A-Bus games during their season, handing out shopping lists at participating Kroger stores and the players help with the unloading and sorting of donations at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service once the food drive concludes. This year, the players are hosting a food donation collection event on October 30, 2022 at the Kroger on Sterling from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fans can stop by the store between these hours to help the Mustangs collect donations for Stuff-A-Bus.
For the past 35 years, CityLink has hosted the Stuff-A-Bus food drive to help eliminate hunger in Peoria. With a long partnership with Kroger to collect enough food to stuff a classic CityLink bus, the donations collected during the annual food drive benefit the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. Since January of this year, the Peoria Friendship House food pantry has provided an average of 450 meals weekly to families who are dealing with hunger in Peoria. The 2022 campaign begins on October 28, and it will conclude on Wednesday, November 30. The goal this year is to collect 11 tons of food. Donations can be purchased or dropped off at all Kroger store locations in Peoria and East Peoria.
