Jack Radley led the way with a hat trick as the Peoria Mustangs crushed the Wooster Oilers 3-0 in a home game at Alice Noble Ice Arena in Peoria. In addition, Zack Freiburger posted a shutout, stopping all 24 of Wooster shots throughout the game. The Peoria Mustangs took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Jack Radley and never looked back.
Blake Finley contributed with 2 assists and Braden Stewart had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.
In the first period, Radley opened the scoring for the Mustangs with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:02 with a helper from Keil. Radley netted a goal at 18:40 with helpers from his teammates Stewart and Finley.
In the third, Radley deposited a goal at 18:20 with assists from Finley and Stewart.
The Mustangs’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Freiburger’s shutout, as he stopped all 24 of the shots he faced. Freiburger’s counterpart, Hubbard, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 30, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (26-19-1-1).
