GAME PREVIEW: PEORIA MUSTANGS VS. MILWAUKEE POWER
The Peoria Mustangs will take another swipe at heading to Wisconsin for another road tilt. This time the Mustangs will face the Milwaukee Power at their new home at the Ozaukee Ice Center in Mequon, WI. Like so many hockey teams, the Power have relocated their home due to COVID-19 restrictions at the Wilson Ice Arena in Milwaukee. The Mustangs and the Power meet for the second time this season after splitting the Mustangs’ opening doubleheader series in Peoria on October 9th and 10th.
GETTING BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS:
The Mustangs are coming off of a 2 week, COVID-19 related season interruption after road series in Rochester and Wausau were rescheduled. Once again, the Mustangs will try to capture the first road victory of the season after being denied the opportunity for the past two weeks.
A LOOK AT THE POWER:
The Power are coming off of a two game loss to the Rochester Grizzlies with both teams getting a home game in the series. The Power’s record now stands at 3-5 with a chance to go to .500 in the W/L column this weekend. Central Division standings place the Power in third place with the Mustangs playing catch-up in fifth place due to delayed games. Player wise, expect special teams to once again make a difference for both teams. Scoring differences were mainly on the special teams side of the puck especially for the Power as Trey Bess scored two shorthanded goal’s in Milwaukee’s 4-3 SO victory in Peoria on October 10th. Peoria will look to put a hold on Milwaukee’s special teams this weekend.
