The Mustangs crushed the Jr. Predators 5-1

The Peoria Mustangs' offense had a big night, peppering the Nashville Jr. Predators with 31 shots throughout the game. The Peoria Mustangs took the lead late in the first on a goal from Cody Layne and never looked back.

Blake Finley contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Brady Jackson had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Mickel opened the scoring for Peoria with a goal at 0:36 with helpers from teammates Power Wayvon and Zowin. Layne netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:39 with helpers from Jackson and Mcdonald.

During the second period, Miller put in a goal at 10:01 with assists from his linemates, Healy and Acuna. Gus finally put Nashville on the board with a goal at 15:44 with assists from Ogle and Redmon. Finley quickly followed with a goal at 17:23 with helpers from Healy and Radley.

In the third, Jackson netted a goal at 17:24 with helpers from Finley and Keil.

Peoria’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Freiburger as he stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced. Freiburger’s counterpart, Naidow, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (5-2-0-0).
