The Mustangs defeat the Ducks 5-3

The Peoria Mustangs' offense had a big night, peppering the Point Mallard Ducks with 31 shots throughout the game. The Peoria Mustangs took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Ian Mchenry.

Ian Mchenry delivered for his team with 2 goals and Jack Healy chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Regnars Udris contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Matt Goodman did his part, adding 2 assists.

During the first, Evans opened the scoring for the Ducks with a goal at 13:39 with a helper from defenseman Udris. Straker answered for the Mustangs with a goal at 15:46 with helpers from his teammates Mcdonald and Mickel.

In the second, Mchenry netted a goal at 0:46 with assists from his linemates, Hay and Healy. Healy put in a goal at 9:05 with helpers from Groesch and Mcdonald. Mchenry deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:17 with assists from Groesch and Hay.

During the third, Chun answered for the Ducks with a goal at 5:24 with helpers from Goodman and Udris. Udris scored a goal at 12:42 with assists from Goodman and Horton. Stewart answered for Peoria with a goal at 18:38 with helpers from Finley and Power Wayvon.

The Mustangs’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Gardner’s big night as he stopped 43 of the 46 shots he faced. Gardner’s counterpart, O’shaughnessy, also had a big night, managing to stop 11 of 14, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Peoria Mustangs’ record to (17-16-1-1).
